There is a new(ish) Twitter tool I have discovered.
It’s called ShoutOmatic. Think of each Shout as an audible status update across your social platfrom.
Check out the video of how it works:
How do I get it?
You now have a variety of ways to “Shout”:
- From http://shoutomatic.com/ web site – letting you record straight from your laptop or PC
- ShoutOmatic iPhone App: http://shouts.at/5C (or search on the app store from your phone)
- ShoutOmatic Facebook App: https://apps.facebook.com/shoutomatic/
It Sounds Cool, But Why Would I Want to do This?
Expression – OK so, we all know that text or the written word can be misinterpreted, without the use of visual cues, tone of voice and expression. An audio status update allows your audience to really feel what you are saying and how you mean it.
Identification – A picture is one thing, but let people hear the voice behind the person they are talking to. Studies show it can facilitate trust and encourage discussion.
Business Use Examples
Ok so gimmicky, but how can these help you promote yourself or your business on social media. Ok here are some examples of how you could use it:
Restaurant/Bar/Dining
Why not do a series of Tweet updates of customer reviews of your specials/menu. You can include location tagging and pictures. All you need is a restaurant manager with an iPhone! Maybe snap the pic of the dish before they eat it, and interview after. Be tactical!
Give away free cocktails in return for an audio testimonial – customers will love this!
Nightclub/Gig
Status update live pics and audio snippets of a band rehearsing. Useful for creating buzz and enticing people to attend and buy tickets for the event.
Life Coach/Personal Trainer/Cosmetic Surgeon
Ask clients for an audio testimonial and add these to your twitter campaign. Audio and Pic testimonial before and after to capture both physical and emotional change through tone of voice.
Creative Agencies
Live event streaming – 30 second celebrity audio interview snippets direct from your brand profile.
Capture media/press reviews of a new product launch or event, complete with a picture of them (please ask permission).
Sponsored shout outs – for Celebs and high profile – contact the site for more info. For example if you have a celeb commissioned for a charity campaign you could use this to do a sponsored tweet out. Users pay a small fee and their favourite star will do a tweet shout out to them! (definitely work for Bieber!)
Competitions – ask audiences to use the tool for engagement: singing/ joke telling/ impressions. The more creative the better!
Always check the media providers licensing terms before heavy commercial use
I am all out of ideas, please share this post and if you can think of any others please add them as a comment below!
Why not download it here and shout out to me @aimee1986 what you think!
